The Water Cooler is an opportunity for AWA workshop leaders to discuss all things workshop-related.
A online gathering that meets every other month to share and/or seek advice, support, resources and inspiration, in an informal setting. No preparation needed to attend. No expectations of follow-up. Just a real-time, friendly get together, for people who share common goals. Duration: two hours. No fee to attend. No host remuneration.
How does The Water Cooler differ from Launchpad groups?
While Launchpad groups are geared specifically towards affiliates who are still commencing their workshop leading journey, The Water Cooler invites ALL kinds of workshop leaders – from the wise old sage types, to the wide-eyed newbie types, and everytype in between, to enjoy community and support by sharing and listening around the topic of, “What’s going on (or NOT going on!) in your workshops right now?”
How does The Water Cooler differ from Ask Me Anything?
Ask Me Anything is an Us and Them situation. Us being regular affiliates, Them being Maureen + board members. And this is perfect, because it feels like this group is all about ‘holding up the AWA workshop leading method.’ It’s an opportunity for affiliates to brush up on, and clarify what that really means, and it’s an opportunity for board members to hear a bit of ‘what’s going on out in the workshop leading community.’
Put most simply, The Water Cooler is an opportunity for fellow workshop leaders to kvetch, grizzle, whine, cheer, celebrate, inspire, learn and ideally – laugh together.
The sixth Water Cooler would have taken place in October, but we’re hosting our Online Retreat October 3–5. Hope to see you there! We’ll be back in November or December. Watch this page of your monthly Affiliate Newsletter for information about when the registration is launched.
