Whether you’re new to AWA or a long-time supporter, this is a great opportunity to write more frequently, improve your skills, build community, and contribute to AWA’s mission.
AWA Writer Members are invited to attend eight AWA Monthly Online Writes or Power of Story single workshops, included in their membership! After you’ve used your eight free writes, you will receive a discount on the registration fees for additional AWA Monthly Online Writes and Power of Story single sessions.
Please note, your eight free workshops can only be applied to specific sessions (and do not include AWA Affiliate offerings, those in purple on our calendar). Please look for this symbol in the workshop description to identify eligible workshops:
We’re also developing a reading series and a publication, both of which will highlight AWA Writers and AWA Affiliates and celebrate the voices in our community.
When you become an AWA Writer Member, you receive:
- Eight free AWA Monthly Online Writes or Power of Story single workshops per membership year. Power of Story multi-week series are not eligible.
- Discounted Blue Pencil Sessions, 30-minute editing consultations that come with in-depth, thoughtful manuscript review
- Knowledge that your dues are supporting AWA’s non-profit mission: to support the voices of established and emerging writers, to free silenced and marginalized voices, and to promote respect for the artist in all writers through the use of the AWA method, developed by Pat Schneider and described in her book, Writing Alone and With Others.
