An online workshop facilitated in the AWA method, offering a safe space for caregivers to connect, express themselves and experience writing with a group of peers living with both the joys and challenges that come along with caring for other(s).
These workshops are designed to reduce isolation, stress and overwhelm for those who provide care on a personal level and/or as a professional care provider. Beginner, rusty, and experienced writers welcome.
Cost: No-cost bursary, $10, $20, $30, or *new* sponsor a spot for a writer experiencing financial barriers.

Susan Wingert holds a Ph.D. in sociology from Western University and is the former managing editor of the International Indigenous Policy Journal. She is currently the program steward for the Alan Klass Program in Health and Humanities at the University of Manitoba, where she brings creative writing to health professionals, students, and patients.
Deborah Bayer has been a certified AWA affiliate since 2017. She’s participated in many AWA groups. After she retired from her medical practice, she began leading groups online. Her approach is influenced by skills she learned in Narrative Medicine. Writers of all levels are welcome. People adjacent to the healthcare system (as practitioners or due to personal/family illness) are especially encouraged to join.
