An online workshop facilitated in the AWA method, offering a safe space for caregivers to connect, express themselves and experience writing with a group of peers living with both the joys and challenges that come along with caring for other(s).
These workshops are designed to reduce isolation, stress and overwhelm for those who provide care on a personal level and/or as a professional care provider. Beginner, rusty, and experienced writers welcome.
Cost: No-cost bursary, $10, $20, $30, or *new* sponsor a spot for a writer experiencing financial barriers.

Marie Lauzier is a retired health administrator living in the Greater Toronto area. After writing with several AWA facilitators for many years, she recently became a certified Facilitator herself. She has particular interest in disability, vulnerability, chronic illness, and caregivers. She has been involved with the recent AWA writing with Caregivers initiative.
Carla Hansonis fascinated by AWA’s radical and nuanced approach to writing, which empowers and helps writers of all levels refine their craft. Enchanted by the capaciousness of creative nonfiction, she favors personal essays, nature writing, place writing, and writing for spiritual growth. Carla Hanson has been a facilitator since 2007 and serves as the AWA board secretary. She is a retired high school English teacher and holds a master’s degree in English Composition. Carla grew up in northwestern Montana on the Flathead Reservation and is a member of the Confederated Salish & Kootenai Tribes.
