Kate Marshall Flaherty has written with mentor Sue Reynolds at her AWA Method Sanctuaries for over a decade, wrote with AWA founder Pat Schneider in Buckhorn Ontario several years ago, and was certified in the first Canadian AWA Method Training with Maureen Buchanan and Sue Reynolds the following year.
She is excited that she and Sue Reynolds will be guiding another Canadian AWA Training this August in Hockley Valley.
After a sensational adventure in Ireland last summer, Kate is delighted to be returning to guide AWA writing and yoga this summer with Sue Reynolds and James Dewar through Inkslingers in SCOTLAND this July!
Kate guides StillPoint Writing sessions Monday evenings in the AWA Method at lovely Scarboro Missions on the bluffs. She is moving downtown to the Mary ward Centre on U of T’s campus this fall 2017 for more StillPoint Writing sessions. After a few year hiatus, Kate will be returning to St. Michael’s College to guide her popular “Writing as a Spiritual Practice” retreats once again this fall as well.
Kate has guided Senior “Writing from Within” workshops for over six years at Applegrove Community Centre’s Senior Program, where participants leave weekly summer sessions with beautiful chapbooks of their writing and works.
Kate also is a “Poet in the Schools” with the League of Canadian Poets, and returned this spring to give StillPoint Writing workshops in Northern Ontario’s lovely Cobalt, home of the Spring Pulse Poetry Festival.
She will be guiding children in writing about “Culinary Delights” for the Victoria Day weekend in Toronto’s Ontario Place, a pilot project that gets kids writing about one of the things that prompts memories well… food!
We are delighted to count Kate and her many contributions to the AWA Method amongst our community. To find out more and form your own connection with her, please visit her website.
