Every May, AWA workshop leaders across the globe bring writers together.
Leaders help AWA raise funds (click here to learn more about volunteering) by offering donation-based writing groups. Proceeds from each session support AWA and its mission. New writers experience the AWA method and celebrate the unique creativity in each other’s voices.
Payment Options
Most groups are hosted online between May 1st and 31st, with open registration, sliding scale from $20-40. A few affinity groups, with registration open only to members of a specific community—for example, teens or LGBTQ+ people—are also on the calendar.
To help you take advantage of all the writing sessions our calendar has to offer, we have a bulk discount: $15 each if you purchase 5, or $14 each for a batch of 10.
We also offer a pay-it-forward ticket, which goes toward writers in need of financial assistance. Want to give a ticket to a writer or writing-curious loved one? We think it’s fantastic to invite a friend or family member to join you in WAW group, so we made it easy to gift a session!
